La mia idea di arte

Sebbene astratti, i miei dipinti non si basano su colori e forme casuali. Uso pochi colori e forme appositamente selezionati per creare un impatto sull'osservatore e attivare inconsciamente emozioni e sentimenti. Essendo un neuroscienziato che lavora nel campo della Neuroscienze affettive, approfitto della mia conoscenza delle emozioni e del cervello per stimolare la mente e il corpo dell'osservatore.

Non uso materiali comuni né tele classiche. Considero l'arte come un esperimento e un processo, non un prodotto. Uso sostanze sintetiche e talvolta organiche e consento reazioni chimiche durante il processo. Metà del processo è orchestrato da me, l'altra metà è puramente governata da reazioni fisiche e chimiche.

“A painting is not a picture of an experience, but is the experience.” - Mark Rothko

Although abstract, my paintings are not based on random colors and shapes. I use few colors and shapes specifically selected to create an impact on the observer and unconsciously activate emotions and feelings.

Being a neuroscientist working in the field of Affective Neuroscience, I take advantage of my knowledge about emotions and the brain to stimulate the mind and the body of the observer.

I do not use common materials nor classic canvas. I consider art as an experiment and a process, not a product. I use synthetic and sometimes organic substances and let chemical reactions take place during the process. Half of the process is orchestrated by me, half is purely governed by physical and chemical reactions.
